FINAL UPDATE: 2010 Application: Processing Delay

February 05, 2010

Updated:  February 13, 2010

Due to the continuing inclement weather in the Washington, DC area, Truman Foundation offices were closed from Friday, February 5 through Thursday, February 11, 2010.  This closure has caused a significant delay with the processing of the 2010 Truman Applications.  We resumed the processing of materials on Friday, February 12, 2010 - but with reduced staff as our volunteers were unable to return to the office.  You may also consult the Foundation's twitter feed for more detailed information on our activities.

Processing the applications is a time-consuming process.  The Foundation staff and volunteers review, by hand, each submission to make sure that it is complete.  After all applications are processed, both the Candidate and the Faculty Advisor are sent an email notification.  Those email notifications were scheduled to go out late in the evening of Friday, February 5, 2010.  Currently, we anticipate email notifications to be sent late evening Monday, February 15, 2010.  We have made the decision to work on that day, although it is a federal holiday and the office should be closed.   Any Candidate or Faculty Advisor who has not received an email by the morning of Tuesday, February 16, 2010 should notify the Foundation.

Please do not call the Foundation in advance of Tuesday morning to inquire about receipt of materials.  Given the small size of the staff and the large number of candidates, it is not feasible to respond to individual inquiries.  You may also consult, or ask your Faculty Advisor to consult, the Manage Students page of the For Faculty Reps section (log-in required).  Any Candidate with a status of "Review Complete" has been received by the Foundation and is currently being processed.
