A native Houstonian, Cindy is majoring in Sociology, Policy Studies and a minor in Global Health at Rice University. Through academic research as well as through community service, she is devoted to understanding and bridging health disparities among minority populations, especially among linguistically isolated communities. She has organized meetings with U.S. Senators to discuss topics relating to human rights and culturally competent health care. She hopes to run for public office someday – from city council member to PTA president. Cindy plans to earn a JD and MPP.
