Matthew is a political science and economics double major with a minor in mathematics at the University of South Dakota. He is involved in student government and USD College Democrats and has interned with U.S. Senator Tim Johnson. He enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard in 2006, and has since developed a passion for veterans' welfare, particularly in the face of wartime stresses being levied on the military today.
