Update & Submission Instructions:  When you log into Manage Students, you will now see two links:  "Print Application" and "Review Application" - provided your student has submitted his or her material for your review.
If you click "Review Application," each pair will appear with a box at the bottom giving you the option of either approving the page or emailing the student with comments.  If you approve of all pages in your student's application, you will see a page that offers you the ability to submit the materials to the Foundation.  After you hit "Submit" - you will be directed to a Submission Complete page.  If you press "Submit" and are not redirected to the Submission Complete page:  There is no need for concern as the "Submit" button is what sends the application forward.  The Submission Complete page is only there for reassurance.
You and your applicant will then receive an email confirming the submission of the materials.  This email should come within an hour or so of submission.  This delay may expand as more people are sending materials.  Please be patient.
How will you know if you submitted properly?  After you press "Submit," your nominee's status on Manage Students will change to "Review Complete" and you will lose the link that reads "Review Application."  You will, however, still be able to print.  Your student will also still have the ability to make edits - so if you spot a last minute typo, the student can make the change.
We will begin printing the applications the morning of February 3, 2010 and will review all applications by hand.  We will also review all materials that are currently in our on-line system.  If a student has supporting materials but has not been submitted to us, we will be in touch to clarify your intensions.
During our review, any incomplete applications will be flagged for follow-up and you will be contacted by a member of our staff.  You will be given several days to rectify any issue - so there is no need for unnecessary stress around this part of the process.
Please do not call the Foundation durng this review period to ask if we have your materials.  Please also encourage your students not to call during this time.  Given the short period between receipt and confirmation, we cannot respond to individual requests.
During the wee hours of February 5-6, 2010, both you and your student will receive an email confirming receipt.  If you do not get an email by Monday, February 8, 2010 (and have not heard from us regarding some other issue with the application), please email the Foundation.  Again, there are two whole weeks between the deadline and our reading panel - there is plenty of time to fix anything.
